Ramsay Estate Cottage

This was our second visit to the Cottage and we will definitely be back. The home is very comfortable, Matt is attentive and responsive and the grounds are spectacular. The property is an easy drive to visit our UVA student and we can't wait to return.

This property was incredibly charming. We enjoyed our stay and would love to return in the spring or fall.

We loved our stay at Ramsay Estate Cottage. The Cottage was amazing, with great historic charm and all the modern conveniences. The views from windows and the grounds of Ramsay are great. Very private. And Matt, the property caretaker is great to work with! Highly recommended.

We spent a wonderful weekend at The Ramsay Estate Cottage over Thanksgiving. The cottage is beautifully decorated, impeccably clean and extremely comfortable- including the beds! The views are spectacular and we enjoyed the outdoor fireplace. Matt, the Estate Manager was very responsive to any questions we had. We would definitely stay here again!

This review is both for Ramsay Estate Cottage and VA Guesthouses. The Cottage is in a lovely setting and is well set up for the comfort of the guest. It could have used a repair to the broken slate step at a main entrance (a hazard for the elderly person with us), a working light over the front door, and better support from the people on site who were scheduled to help with problems. That said, when smoke alarms began clanging late at night, the local support person was away, his backup didn't respond. It was thanks to the owner of VA Guesthouses, who came to our rescue and solved the problem (bringing his own ladder with him), that we got some sleep that night. So A+ for VA Guesthouses and its owner, who obviously go above and beyond to support their rentals.

Well-located house on a very nice piece of property with beautiful views. Well-appointed, and spotless. The abundant firewood for use in the fireplace (we used outdoor one), was appreciated.

We absolutely loved this cabin. It was charming, quant, clean, great layout for 2 families, and in a very convenient location to all the fun Charlottesville has to offer. The only negative, the king bed broke, and was on a slant which made for a difficult night's sleep. I'm sure once they fix or replace that mattress, it'll be the perfect place for your next vacation!

Loved this house! It was perfect for us and we look forward to returning in the future. Such a peaceful and beautiful setting. We loved our time by the fireplace outside. Everything was clean and ready for us we we arrived. Lots of room to spread out in this house. Can't wait to visit again.

We just spent 5 days here with our three young kids had had a incredible time. The property is GORGEOUS and the cottage was perfect for our family. The property manager was on site and incredibly helpful. We loved the outdoor fireplace each evening and waking up to the beautiful sunrise over the blue ridge mountains. We will definitely be back!! Very close to wineries and breweries and just 20 min to Charlottesville restaurants.

We had a wonderful stay at the Ramsay Cottage. The house is very charming and the views are incredible. The house manager was available if we needed anything and he had the house perfectly prepared for our stay. There was always plenty of firewood for us to use! Location was ideal for wineries and breweries. Highly recommend!

Wonderful home, details from bedding to painting to furniture all spot-on. Views wonderful, drive up the lane beautiful and that outdoor fireplace was awesome. Whit the site manager was always communicating to be sure we were comfortable and if we had any needs he was there to help. We look forward to our next trip there.

Myself and some friends of mine stayed at the Ramsay estate cottage over New Year's Eve weekend. We had an amazing time their. Our host Whit went above and beyond. I would love to return at some point. Several other friends stayed at both the farmhouse and that carriage house and those of us at the cottage felt that we have the best experience. Plenty of Room to spread out. We used the fireplace every night both indoors and out. We were very comfortable there and I hated to leave

Some highlights: comfortable beds, very clean property, well-stocked kitchen, gorgeous views, peace and tranquility, and tons of fun for our kids meeting the cows and chickens. This place is a real gem in one of the prettiest parts of Albemarle County and we hope to return. Many thanks!!

We wanted a special place for Christmas and to be with family. Stephen was gracious and is very knowledgeable about the area. We enjoyed meeting him and learning about the Greenwood area. The house was perfect for us. Beautiful, spacious and with all the amenities we needed.

My parents, partner, and I had a wonderful long weekend at Ramsay during beautiful October weather. The home is comfortable, impeccably clean, and welcoming - and the views are so outstanding we didn't leave the property at all one day. Stephen is a very helpful and welcoming point of contact and went the extra mile to mail an article of clothing we'd inadvertently left behind.

I highly recommend this home for groups of friends or family - the set-up allows everyone privacy (3 bathrooms! plenty of space for early birds to be up and about without disturbing those sleeping in!) with wonderful communal spaces to relax (outdoor fireplace! comfortable living room!), all within minutes of Skyline Drive, wineries and restaurants in/near Crozet, and an easy hop down 64 to Charlottesville itself.

The Ramsay Cottage was the perfect location for our family gathering. We enjoyed the peace and quiet of the beautiful surroundings along with the comfortable furnishings. Stephen was a gracious and conscientious host, available for any needs that arose. I would highly recommend the Ramsay!

Had a wonderful relaxing enjoyable experience at Ramsey House. The perfect vacation Steven was the perfect caretaker loaded with information regarding the history of the property. We visited Charlottesville, Crozet and Schuyler. The view was spectacular. We built a fire in the fireplace and ate breakfast every morning either on the porch or the front room with big windows.
